HORSEY SEAHORSE (FEAT. KING KRULE)

Horsey are a South London band that fuse theatrical elements with jazz, prog-rock and a good dose of comedy. Their last release was 'Sippy Cup' back in 2020, which features angular guitar lines and candy-coated pop melodies. Now the band team up with long-time friend King Krule for a new single titled 'Seahorse', that feels further a field from their usual sonic territory. 'Seahorse' has landed alongside a fantastic stop-frame animation by Jack Marshall. Introducing the song is a shimmering synth that resonates with a church-like reverb, shortly followed by subtle drums, bass and guitar - which unite in melody. King Krule’s vocals are soft and deep, whispered close into the microphone. The production is both eerie and trippy, with Jacob’s guitar distant and becoming increasingly crazed. The song explodes towards the end, with King Krule’s criticism of Babylon. Watch and listen to 'Seahorse' here. -Ellie Rose-Davies
